Minnesota Police Officer Jeronimo Yanez stopped Castile’s vehicle on July 6, 2016, because he believed Castile might have been involved in a convenience store robbery a few days earlier. Further investigation after the stop showed no connection to Castile and the robbery.
Minister Gill’s comment:
This is what I’m talking about when I speak about a foolish nation that will provoke us.
It is Yah who is provoking us through these interactions with society and the police departments. In this particular case the police department instigated the confrontation that ended in a murder which provoked us to react. But we don’t take the time to react the right way. Our righteous reaction would be to recognize who we are. We are a special people that he chose. Then pick up the Scriptures and start obeying His commandments; start calling on His name, and praying to Him to save us from this madness.
Castile handed over insurance information then volunteered that he had a firearm on him. Then he reached for his identification to give to the officer. Yanez feared that Castile was grabbing for the gun after being ordered not to reach for it. Yanez saw visions of his wife and baby girl flashed through his mind and felt his life was in danger.
Officer Jeronimo Yanez was charged November 16 with second-degree manslaughter and two felony counts of dangerous discharge of a firearm.
The trial hinged on one central question: Did the officer have reason to fear that Mr. Castile was reaching for a gun that he had acknowledged having with him when he was pulled over?
Office Yanez: “I thought I was going to die, I had no other choice. I was forced to engage Mr. Castile. He was not complying with my directions.”
The court issued the verdict: Officer Yanez not guilty of all counts in the shooting of Philando.
In addition, it was also reported that Castile was high on marijuana at the time of the stop, which impaired his ability to listen to Officer Yanez when he was instructed not to reach for his gun. Officer Yanez shot Castile after he ignored orders and reached towards his gun.
Minister Gill’s comment:
They are constantly killing us and then make us look like the predator, and the one who does the murder is made to look like the victim.
They’re constantly breaking the ninth commandment which is, thou shall not bare false witness against thy neighbor. These people don’t have any sense of value for what they call in their own words, Christianity. This has been going on for centuries where they abuse us, and murder us, and then lie on us.
